Top Healthy Eating Tips for the Whole Family
*This is a collaborative post.
There's nothing worse sometimes than the stress of trying to get your kids to eat healthy food. It should be a fun and enjoyable activity for the whole family, especially if you're all involved in the meal planning.
But when you have picky eaters who do not like to eat any kind of food, let alone the healthy stuff, it can be very difficult to move forward with mealtimes with ease. Here's the thing, the whole family will eventually learn to eat healthily, and you have to do as you can in the meantime.
You can start looking online for a country shop near me to find the best, freshest farm shop food, but you do need to think about how you can get that food into the stomachs of your kids! So, we’ve put together a short list of tips to eating healthier.

Get everybody involved in the meal planning. This is not the easiest thing to do because you're picky eaters might start listing all of the food that they like to eat rather than the ones you hope they will. It's a good idea to allow each family member to choose their favourite healthy foods and incorporate them into the meal plan for the week. In fact, they could also take turns getting involved in the cooking of said healthy meal as long as they will actually eat it.
Make eating a social event. Turning off the TV and other distractions makes it easier for everybody to sit down together at the table for meals. Even if your kids like to free range eat and don't like to sit still, it's still a nice idea to be able to have conversations or play word games instead of them watching.
Cook together. When you've done your farm shop, you can involve the whole family in the cooking process. One of the kids can peel the veggies, the other one can chop them, and you can even have one of them Googling all of the facts that they could learn about said vegetables. Be careful with that last one though, because if one of them reads a particular fact that puts them off eating their veggies, that's not going to go down well for anyone. You can teach valuable kitchen skills while making cooking more fun.
Start growing your own food. Get the kids together and start a small, bare vegetable garden or a herb garden. Involve them in the whole process of planning, planting and caring for the vegetables and herbs. Not only will this allow you to provide fresh, healthy ingredients for meals, but it teaches them the importance of the environment and its sustainability.
Make it a game. If you want your children to eat healthily then why not cook up an array of vegetables in different styles and get them to taste test them with a blindfold on? You can have carrots but with a twist by roasting them instead of just boiling them with some butter. You could make runner beans and have them with bacon wrap around them and. Whatever your kids would enjoy eating, incorporate it into their veggies.
